Powered by a 150-watt motor, the grinder has a durable die-cast metal hopper and brushed stainless-steel housing. It comes with three separate cutting plates to let you set the grind for the task at hand. Use the fine plate for baby food and hamburger, the medium plate for relishes and soup meat, and the coarse plate for vegetables or chunky ground. Operation of the grinder is simple, and the clearly marked on/off panel includes a reverse function that helps retrieve clogged food. The reverse toggle must be held down so you cannot accidentally leave it engaged. Waring also includes a small and a large sausage attachment for transferring blended meat and spices to sausage casings. Although the grinder may not have the hard-wearing qualities of all-metal models, the plastic used in its construction is both spare and durable.
